Abandonment is a long-term trauma from which many dogs never recover. Dropped in the worst places, these four-legged creatures have only one goal: to stay alive and survive potential danger.
Alejandro here is no exception.
When he was cruelly abandoned in a random orchard, he immediately ran for shelter. But instead of a warm room and a solid roof over his head, all he could find was a tiny box.
The sweetest surprise in a box
When the good people of Humane Animal Services of FresnoCalifornia, when they first found Alejandro, they were shocked by what they saw.
He was literally hide in a cardboard box away from rain and potential predators around. Yet when they approached him, he had the sweetest smile on his face. It was like he was waiting patiently all this time for kind humans to find him.
The volunteers didn’t know how long this little boy had been in the box, but one thing was undoubtedly true: it was a real miracle that he survived!
With all the coyotes and stray dogs roaming everywhere, Alejandro was in constant danger of getting hurt. Fortunately, on the day of his rescue, he appeared to be in good health except for his skin problem, result of his difficult life out.

The crew took care of this sweet puppy and, after an initial treatment, took him to
Valley Animal Centerfrom Fresno, California.
During the first week he was extremely shy around other people and dogs, but then his true character blossomed. In no time, he has become this courageous and energetic puppy whose tail was constantly wagging.
He quickly overcame the trauma of the cardboard and is now ready to live with his new friends.

Thriving around your new family
It didn’t take long for Alejandro to dazzle everyone with who he was really with – and he was simply the ultimate sidekick!
Despite all the difficulties he faced at the start of his journey, he was finally ready to enter a permanent home. And that day, it finally happened!
“Even though he went through some tough times when he first arrived, he was eager to show his love. He loved being able to spend time with his friends at the shelter. We are happy to say that Alejandro has found his person to share and give all his love to,” the rescue wrote in a Facebook post.
Alejandro is now thriving with his new mother. It’s safe to say that he’s not even a shadow of his former self anymore because he now has everything he dreamed of.
Far from the orchard and rainy days, all this sweet little puppy knows now are exciting adventures in his new home.
He has completely transformed into a whole new dog, and his rescuers couldn’t be more grateful to finally see Alejandro in the right place!
