Some dogs dig up the entire yard. Others wander around the house to hide their treats. Some prefer their hiding place to be under the couch, and there’s Rocky…
Rocky is not particularly fond of food or treats. He is a rather picky eater and not very motivated by food.
When he’s not hungry but still gets a treat, Rocky hides it. But Rocky doesn’t like the usual hiding places. hiding place is beautiful unconventional and strange.
Of all the hiding places in the house and all the dirt in the yard, Rocky chose the most obvious place to hide his bones despite the fact that he doesn’t hide bones well.
Where did Rocky hide his bone? Is it really that obvious?
The worst place to hide treats in the world
Rocky is a dachshund puppy. If you know anything about dogs, you know how strong the hunting instinct is in this breed of dog. They were bred and used for hunting, and their survival instinct is dominant.
Although centuries have passed since Dachshunds were first bred, this prey instinct continues and Rocky is a fine example of this breed.
Based in Florida mini dachshund was a young puppy when Michelle Vachs and her fiancé adopted him. They loved the idea of a dog and simply fell in love with Rocky, the cutest Doxie puppy.
“We researched all the dog breeds and decided we wanted a miniature dachshund. We searched the internet for good breeders and found one in California. We immediately fell in love with his picture,” said Michelle for News week.
Michelle also adds that life with Rocky is great. He is a typical puppy and loves to play dog games like fetch, digging holes and cuddling. Rocky is also a bit of a velcro puppy and can’t stand being without his humans.
However, Rocky is also the world’s worst treat hider, as he hides his treats in the most unusual places: the blanket under him!
“Rocky is a very picky eater and only eats when he’s hungry. At first we had to get used to it, but now that we know what he likes and when he’s hungry, it’s not a problem anymore… He wanted to save it (the bone) for later and protect it from us so we wouldn’t take it away from him.” Michelle finishes.
And how do we know this? By looking a TikTok video Michelle posted a video featuring Rocky in his bone hiding habit.
Rocky Thought saving his bone for later was a good idea, and the best hiding place was the blanket. Surely no one would find it, not even by smelling it, Rocky.
Sometimes the most obvious place is the last place you look. If Rocky’s mother, Michelle, was looking for the bone, the blanket would have been the last place to look.
Next time, Rocky, leave it on the bed. They’ll probably walk right past it without even noticing.
Rocky loves bones, but I encourage you to do so too. Be careful when giving bones of any kind to your dog. For example, chicken bones are prohibited because they fracture badly and can injure your dog if dropped.
According to Advanced Care Veterinary Clinic, Bones may be safe for dogs, but they are not essential. Sure, they can provide your dog with healthy minerals and stimulate salivary enzymes, but the consequences are much more serious.
Broken teeth, perforated gums, cuts, constipation and even choking can be your problem. I’m sure there are much healthier and safer treats out there.
It turns out it’s a good thing that Rocky is a picky eater, always hiding his bone treats when he’s not hungry.
