Mable, a beautiful puppy, never knew how tender and loving human contact could be.
Her cruel owners mistreated and injured her. The sweet puppy has become a terrified dog who has lost faith in humanity.
Fortunately, the dog was saved from his attackers and brought to a shelter.
The shelter staff felt sad after seeing Mable for the first time. She couldn’t help but tremble with fear. His eyes were clouded with sadness.
Although the employees tried to pet and comfort her, she would not let them near her. She always expected them to hurt her.
The scared dog didn’t know what love was.
Mable meets her adoptive mother
Angèle Marie is the founder of Angela’s Arkthe rescue based in Charlotte, North Carolina, and an animal sanctuary in Wyoming.
When she first met Mable, the rescuer saw the overwhelming fear in her beautiful eyes.
“When I first saw her, you could see it in her eyes. It’s as if she wants to disappear. Angela said The Dodo.
The wonderful savior knew she had to take her home and welcome her. She wanted to help Mable overcome her stress.
Angela prepared a crate for the puppy where she could decompress. She tried to talk to Mable, but every time she approached her, the dog wanted to run away.
Mable retreated to the corner of the crate, trembling and avoiding eye contact with her foster mother.
Angela took her to the beach, hoping it would help, but Mable didn’t like going for walks. She couldn’t relax.
All this time, the dog was expecting something bad to happen. Mable’s ears were back and she kept her tail tucked.
Trying to mend Mable’s broken heart
The rescuer with the giant heart was committed to helping Mable. She sat with her on the floor and fed her by hand. She showered the puppy with praise and encouragement.
Little by little, Mable began to get used to her adoptive mother. However, the puppy was kept and she still jumped whenever her foster mother tried to pet him.
After months of trying to gain Mable’s trust, Angela began to notice many small milestones.
The dog surprised his mother when she took his first zooms in their garden. Mable ran free. At that moment, she seemed to have forgotten her past.
Angela was thrilled and she couldn’t believe how excited Mable was.
The charming puppy made himself comfortable during his walks with his mother. Her tail was no longer tucked in and she began to enjoy her freedom and the beauty around her.
Rejoice in Puppy Milestones
The rescuer will always remember the first time Mable invited her to play with her. The dog approached her with a smile on his face. She started jumping and wagging her tail.
Angela considers this the first step in their relationship.
Mable needed time to accept her adoptive mother’s love and realize that she wouldn’t hurt her.
“The first time I got to pet Mable, I would sit on the floor next to her, petting her gently, and then I would remove my hand. And I tried to do that over and over again so she could get used to a hand falling on her and realize that it wasn’t going to hurt her. » added Angèle.
Angela is proud of Mable and the progress she has made.
“I think my favorite part of this experience is seeing who Mable is now versus the dog she was at the shelter. I see this dog less and less at the shelter every day. Small steps are something I will always be more than proud of her for,” » insisted Angèle.
After living with her amazing foster mother for almost a year, Mable is now ready to start looking for her forever family.
The dog hopes to find wonderful humans who will understand, support and love him infinitely.
After everything Mable has been through, she deserves a happy ending.
