People can sometimes be very cruel and demonstrate it in various ways. One of the best indicators of this situation is their attitude towards pets, when many of them show their true colors.
Two rescuers Sadies Dog Rescue I witnessed this when they found an abandoned dog on the side of the road. This poor puppy begged them to help her, and all the time she was pointing to the bushes that were just across the road.
When they got there, the rescuers realized that this dog actually wanted them to help her blind friend who was standing there helplessly the whole time.
Heartbreaking condition
The blind dog was lying in the bushes and the two bags next to her indicated that these two poor canine girls were thrown together. Since Nellie, the dog who asked for help, was not blind, she was able to fend for herself.
Unfortunately, the blind dog, Agnes, was not so lucky, as she was completely dependent on others. Fortunately, these kind souls arrived at the right time and were able to help her and her brave friend.
They gently picked them both up and transferred them to the van. Due to their poor condition, the path to the rescue center was not easy, but they made it.
Agnes was immediately taken to the veterinary clinic for a check-up. Veterinarians have confirmed that she was in a lot of pain due to his particular condition.
“Agnes may need to have her eyes looked at by a specialist as one is a bit larger than the other and our vet thinks it is glaucoma which could be quite painful,” Sadies Dog Rescue volunteer Laura Myatt wrote in her post Facebook post.
Aside from that, she was malnourished, which wasn’t a surprise considering no one had taken care of her for quite a long time. However, they didn’t want to abandon himneither the veterinarians, nor Laura and her team, convinced that she had a bright future ahead of her.
His new beginning
Despite all the difficulties, little by little, with the help of all the wonderful people at the center, Agnes healed. Laura offered her a host family and she was over the moon thanks to this brave girl.
“Happy Saturday guys ☀️ Agnès, also known as “Aga-do 🎶” because she can do anything and everything 🌟💛 is recovering well after being sterilized and going to the dentist,” she wrote in her new Facebook post. “She makes us smile every day 😁 One of the easiest host families 💛.”
Agnes made a full recovery in a short time and was soon ready for her new start. His adoptive mother had nothing but words of praise for him.
“Agnès is totally blind but does surprisingly well, she knows where the few steps we have are, her hearing is wonderful, she hears the fridge door opening from the outside,” Sadies Dog Rescue wrote in his Facebook post. “She’s a cuddly girl, who loves love, she loves people and she loves to be bothered.”
The proof for that last statement lies in the sweetest video of her and Laura cuddling up to each other.
It didn’t take long for dog lover Sue Edwards to discover Agnes and her touching story. She didn’t think long but immediately decided to adopt it. Despite all the difficulties, this blind dog had a happy ending and finally settled into a loving home.
But what about his friend Nellie? What happened to him? Well, she jumps into the happiest part of this story.
Happiest meeting
Nellie, like her blind friend, had to go through a recovery phase before she was ready to be adopted. According to Laura Facebook postshe was extremely matted, but thanks to vets and a few makeovers, she quickly recovered and became a beautiful dog again.
Unfortunately, she was not able to find a permanent home as quickly as her friend Agnes. However, that was until Agnes’ new mom, Sue, put things in place.
“When the lovely Sue Edwards realized that Nellie had been rescued with her little Sadie’s daughter, Agnes, she just knew she wanted them to be reunited once again, forever this time!” Amber Westaway, one of the workers at the rescue center, wrote in her post: Facebook post.
This set the stage for one of the most heartwarming reunions in the history of this rescue center.
Thus, two sincere friends who supported each other in the most difficult times found each other. Only this time they weren’t left on the street by a heartless landlord, but welcomed into a warm home by a woman with the biggest heart.
No matter the difficulties, true friendship and love always leads to the most beautiful endings, and this story proves it best.
