When a woman walked out of her home in Fort Worth, Texas, she couldn’t imagine that she was about to make an astonishing discovery.
After hearing mysterious screams, she followed them to find out where they were coming from. Moments later, she was surprised to see a white, emaciated dog curled up in a muddy area near her home.
The puppy looked sad and dejected. Once the resident looked at his feet, she realized the dog was not alone.
Save the sweet family
The woman was left heartbroken after seeing a litter of screaming little puppies huddled around their mother’s paws. The babies were cold and covered in mud and needed urgent help and care to survive.
After the woman asked for help, Erica, from Saving Hope Rescuerushed to save the dog family.
The moment the mother dog saw Erica, her eyes filled with hope and gratitude. She knew that she and her babies were no longer alone.
Erica drove them to the hospital for a medical examination. As soon as they were given a clean bill of health, Saving Hope Rescue took them into their care.
Staff were saddened that the mother dog gave birth while in a mud pit. They could only imagine how worried she must have been about her babies because she had no one to rely on.
Employees did not know how long the dog had spent wandering the streets. They were happy to be there for her when she and her babies needed it most.
Mama Dog and her babies are happy to be safe
“Mom is extremely kind and grateful to have been saved” Saving Hope Rescue wrote about their Facebook. Her name was Evelyn.
The mother and her puppies needed an emergency foster family. Cassie Evans stepped in and welcomed them into her home.
She and her family gave them a bath and showered them with love and care.
Evelyn had a wide smile on her face and her ears were perked up. She was happy to be able to focus on breastfeeding her babies in a warm, loving home.. Her adorable puppies were feeling happy, enjoying their mother’s gentle cuddles.
The caring mother dog has thrived in her foster family, with her babies. Evelyn and her puppies gained weight and became energetic.
The mother dog nursed her puppies for 6 weeks. When the puppies gained enough strength, Evelyn said goodbye to them and they went to another foster home.
A happy ending
It didn’t take long for her puppies to find a wonderful forever home and they were happy to move in with their family. They were ready to experience new adventures and enjoy life.
Sweet Evelyn went to another foster family. The charming doggie has soaked up the love her adoptive mother, Stephanie, gave her. She loved people and was very protective of children.

Although she loved her foster family, Evelyn longed to find a forever home. She patiently waited for months and hoped that someone would choose her and make her biggest dream come true.
In November 2023, Saving Hope Rescue shared that Evelyn had found her happily ever after.
Dallas resident Amy Jones fell in love with sweet Evelyn and gave her a forever home. Evelyn changed her name to Kaia and she instantly bonded with her family.
Kaia is happier than ever and she loves her humans deeply. The wonderful puppy loves carrying his family’s shoes around the house and playing with his stuffed toys.
Kaia is a real cuddle beast and she loves cuddling her family.
We are thrilled that Kaia has a warm, comfortable bed to sleep in and a loving family who adores her and wishes her good night. From now on, she will be loved and cared for without limits.
