One of the advantages of dogs is their pack mentality and their ability to adapt to change by forming groups where they work together to achieve something.
In the case of stray dogs, this can work in their favor when it comes to scavenging and finding food from other people.
They will gather in groups and settle into a small area where they will usually stay for a while.
In this story we will talk about a group of rescuers who came across a very large pack while trying to save a stray dog.
A huge surprise
When Robert Altermoser, a lifeguard from EverydayStraysaw a stray dog, he wanted to help and save him, so he decided to follow him.
He noticed that he was very shy and moving away from him at a rapid pace, but they didn’t want to abandon him.
Robert said The Dodo: “Basically, we just saw a dog running in this building, and sometimes you get a funny feeling if you see something.»
They were approaching the abandoned building and started hearing barking. After entering, they were shocked by what they saw.
There were a lot of stray dogs there, all trying to stick together. It was a horrible place for them, but they didn’t know any better.
What was particularly surprising was that there were also quite a few puppies.
Robert’s rescue plan
Robert said: “The moment I walked into this building, I knew I wanted this whole place to be empty.»
As someone who has worked as a volunteer for over two years, and I spent time rescuing animals, it was heartbreaking for him.
Her first task was to help the puppies who clearly needed it the most. After rescuing them, he took them to a veterinarian, where they were examined and treated.
However, the mission was not yet complete. Robert didn’t just save the puppies. He wanted to catch them all and give them a chance at a new life.
One thing he decided to do first was check with the local police to see if he and his partner could take away all the dogs from this horrible area.
The police obviously obliged and allowed them to carry out the rescue. They were happy to hear this.
After returning to help all the dogs in the abandoned building, Robert noticed how friendly and kind they all were.
It was obvious to them that they weren’t a threat and they just wanted someone to help them leave this place for good.
A very successful rescue
They also found a mother and other puppies that needed saving. They cautiously approached the mother, who was scared and trembling.
But after realizing they wanted to help her, she relaxed enough and allowed them to take her and the babies to a safe place.
The rescue went well and everything went well. Robert said: “We just put the lead around them, cut the chain and walked them to the cars.»
And finally, the mission was complete. Robert and his partner managed to secure and rescue all the dogs from the abandoned building.
They were taken to their shelter, where they all had plenty of food, water and space to move around.
One thing they always tried to do was take them on walks where they could play and explore their surroundings. It was truly incredible.
As for adoption, many dogs and puppies in the building have been taken in by a new family.
Although we have no information on the rest of them, I am confident that Robert and his team have found a forever home for each of them.
