Tia and Koda are not your everyday German Shepherd puppies! The story of these siblings has a rocky start given the circumstances in which they found themselves.
The six-week-old GSD puppies were abandoned in a box and hidden in the bushes at the local park. The toddler brother and sister were spotted cowering by a random passenger who immediately sprung into action!

When the man first saw Tia and Koda in the park, they were extremely scared, cold and required urgent veterinary attention.
He couldn’t leave them alone in the park, because they would surely die without any help. That’s why he decided to bring them to SPCA of British Columbia, where the puppies received their first treatment. After some time, these two GSD babies were transferred to the SPCA facility in Richmond.
Unfortunately, the puppies were quite neglected and poorly socialized, but the biggest problem was the fact that Tia, the little girl, had a series of health problems.
Tia needs help
Koda was found in much better condition than Tia. This little girl had a serious injury to her front leg, but that’s not all! In addition to her injury, she suffered from a lingering infection related to the injury, as well as gastrointestinal issues.
According to CTV News, the SPCA is currently seeking donations for Tia, as she needs serious medical care. Krista, the director of the Richmond SPCA, says the puppy’s treatment is estimated at $6,500.
Luckily, Petsecure will cover half of these costs, making finding the money a lot easier. Tia is still under investigation, even though there is already a family who knows about her situation and is willing to adopt her.
On the way to a Furever house
Despite Tia’s ongoing health issues, she and her brother are doing great in terms of socializing.
They have already let their guard down and started interacting with the good people at the SPCA. After all these trials, the two finally got the chance to feel what it means to be a loved and nurtured puppy.
The sad news is that Tia and her brother Koda separated a few days later. He was adopted by his foster family who loves him very much! At that time, Tia could not go to her foster family, as she was being kept for further medical treatment.
Even though she still can’t go to her forever home, her new owners are patiently counting down the days until she feels better! They are inclined to bring this beautiful little girl into her forever home! And she deserves it!
