A depressing fact is that there are so many malnourished and starving dogs in this world that would do anything just to get help from someone.
However, one thing that is often forgotten is that some of them have been mistreated their entire lives and simply prefer to stay away from humans at all costs, even if their salvation depends on it.
In this story we will talk about a starving and abused dog who almost would not have survived without his rescuers.
The Tragic Story of Aniken
When the rescuers of Reggie’s Friendsin Texas, were the first to learn of Aniken’s existence, they spent some time searching for the location he stayed inside.
During their research, They came across an anxious dog who was trying to lead them to where Aniken was staying.
He was too weak to move on his own, so his friend watched over him and helped rescuers find him.
When arriving on site, They were shocked at the state they found him in. It was simply a heartbreaking sight.
The horror of what had been done to him had been revealed. Most of his teeth were forcibly removed.
He also had numerous infected wounds on his body that the previous owners tried to sew up by hand.but it was incredibly sloppy and painful for the dog.
It was also clear that they had never taken him to a veterinary clinic.because he had a lot of ticks on his body.
I just can’t imagine how someone could do something like this to such an innocent and sweet dog.
A long and difficult convalescence
After being picked up by his rescuers, Aniken simply melted into his hands and felt so safe.almost as if he knew he was finally saved.
Very soon, however, They took him to a vet in Texas where all the existing problems were confirmed, and more were discovered.
He suffered from many parasites, scabies, a weak heart, weak kidneys and he also suffered from severe anemia.
Aniken was a fighter. Despite his many physical and health problems, he continued to fight.
After intensive treatment for virtually all of his problems, It was time for him to relax a little and enjoy a good meal.
He had to follow a very specific diet consisting of many small meals.so that his body can properly absorb all the nutrients.
Some time has passed and he continues his path to recovery. Aniken is still on a strict diet and the vets hope he will soon return to a normal weight.
Aniken’s Amazing Transformation
While all this is happening, he is staying in a foster home. where his keepers could keep a close eye on him in case anything happened.
He started showing his little tail wag, which meant his mood was improving, and his foster parents thought it would be good to take him for a little walk, which he really enjoyed.
Several months later, Aniken is now completely unrecognizable. He looks like a completely different dog.
His health has improved greatly and he is so happy to be living his best life now with the people who love him so much.
As for Aniken’s friend Tesa, who was watching over him, she also found her forever home. with a wonderful family, and they are lucky to have him.
It’s so heartwarming to see what we can accomplish when we give dogs our unconditional love and promise to be there for them in their most difficult times.
We know that Aniken, now named Ian, is very grateful to be with such incredible people, and he can finally enjoy his life to the fullest.
