When approaching a stray, frightened dog, the most important thing to do is to go slowly. If they are afraid, it is probably for a good reason and they may eventually lash out.
Most just want food and comfort, so the best approach would be to give them something to eat. If they see that you mean no harm, they might develop their trust in you.
In this story we will talk about a dog who went through a similar situation, but thanks to his wonderful rescuer, he is finally safe.
Scared puppy living in an alley
It was an ordinary day when a group of rescuers from St. Louis Wandering Rescue I found a stray dog living in a small alley and waiting for help.
Upon finding him, his rescuer noticed that the dog was becoming very scared.so she stepped back and tried to help him relax by talking to him.
She tried to move closer and closer, but it failed to allay her fears. He was always very worried in her presence.
The woman noticed that there was a bowl of food and fresh water.so someone had been looking after him for a while before she arrived.
It really shows that kind people like this really do exist and it’s amazing to see that they helped this poor puppy.
However, to help him trust him, the woman gave him a small piece of food, which he took and ate with pleasure.
A small gesture of kindness
And a few moments later, the dog got up from his little place and approached his savior.
It was a very rainy day, which meant he must have been cold in that weather too, and that meant they had to get out of there quickly.
The woman gave him a few hugs and he finally understood that she had good intentions and just wanted to help him.
She then took the dog in her car and brought him back to the St. Louis shelter where he was able to receive appropriate help.
After establishing that he was a very healthy dog, it was time to find him a foster home and perhaps a new family soon.
Although we have no information on what happened to this adorable dog, we are confident that he is now in a loving home with people who care for him.
