If there’s one thing I hate, it’s seeing other people throw their puppies into the street when they become a nuisance.
What’s even worse is that they abandon them in an incredibly remote place where they can’t even get help. I will never understand why.
It’s easier to hand them over to a shelter where they can find someone who will care for them.
This poor puppy was abandoned by his previous owner in the middle of the desert when he needed him the most. However, things were not so bleak.
A woman who worked nearby noticed this friendly dog out in the desert and decided to call for help.
A cry for help
When Jeanean Gillespie first saw this sad puppy wandering in the desert from California, she felt so bad that she had to help somehow.
She was already used to seeing other animals in this area, as it has become a common ground for abandoning animals, which is just horrible.
She called her friend, Suzette Hall, for help. Waiting for, the woman tried to help the puppy giving her food and water, but she was so scared that it was impossible to catch her.
Every time they tried to approach, the puppy would run away, so Jeanean decided to just leave the food and water near the door of her building.
The idea was that she would be hungry enough to approach them again and maybe relax a little.
The workers noticed that the puppy always slept near the office doors, because she felt safe there, knowing that there were other people who wanted to help her.
Nonetheless, it was a difficult rescue mission as they still had to come up with a plan to catch her somehow.
The puppy was safe
So, naturally, Jeanean lured the puppy into her office with food, and it was secured. In fact, it was that simple.
However, there was a problem. She was always so terrified of everyone that she wouldn’t let anyone near her.
That’s where Suzette Hall came into the picture. Upon his arrival at their home in California, she got straight to work.
The puppy was already exhausted and Suzette slowly approached her. She tried to calm her down and it worked.
Just when that happened, the puppy melted into her arms and she was finally happy to be safe.
Suzette then took her back to her car where she fell asleep almost immediately. The puppy absolutely loved his return to the shelter.
It’s truly beautiful to see how showing patience and kindness to traumatized animals can help them overcome their fears.
Suzette and her friend Jeanean gave this puppy a new opportunity to start her life again, and it’s really comforting to know that she’ll be okay.
