Although it can be difficult at times, being an animal rescuer is one of the most rewarding jobs there is!
The moment a rescuer realizes he or she has helped a furry friend live the life they always deserved is truly incredible.
And Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy, a rescue organization based in Irvine, Calif., knows a lot about what it feels like.
Another rescue under his belt
When good Samaritans noticed a small duo of puppies wandering around a neighborhood park, they immediately contacted Hall and informed her of the situation.
Unfortunately, one puppy suddenly disappeared, leaving the other frightened dog behind. But it didn’t take long for it to disappear as well.
Until one night.
“Yesterday I received a message saying he had been seen running frantically down a busy street. When I arrived I saw him but everyone stopped and chased him. My heart sank, one wrong move and he would have been hit by a car. Hall wrote in a post on Facebook.
Luckily, Hall was able to get in front of the scared puppy with his pickup truck and have him go to a nearby school. She then asked the people chasing him to secure the school gates so he wouldn’t run away again.
After searching the school a bit, she managed to find him hiding in a corner.
Hall cautiously approached the puppy and managed to slip a live trap around its head. Unfortunately, this scared the puppy and he tried to fight his way out and run away from the rescuer.
But Hall refused to let him go.
Eventually, she was able to calm him down by letting him know that he was safe and that nothing was going to hurt him again.
Hall drove around the neighborhood late at night, trying to find her friend, but she was unable to locate him.
Incredible reunion
After some research, California rescuers discovered that the puppy’s name was Rocky and that he was already part of a family!
They also discovered that the other puppy, whose name was Whiskey, was his brother, and they both ran away from home after their parents left the door open by mistake.
Rocky’s owners immediately got in their car and drove to the shelter to pick up their adorable pup!
But that wasn’t the end of the good news!
Hall received information that Whiskey had been picked up by another shelter and had been placed on their lost dog list!
As soon as they got Rocky, they immediately went down to find Whiskey.
“Oh, what a reunion this will be. Friends reunited again! wrote Room.
Last word
This is truly one of those rescue stories that completely melts your heart.
Two fur babies who tried their best to stay together but got separated have not only found each other, but also their adorable hoomans.
I can only imagine how happy this incredible family was when they were finally together again!
