When Dove was picked up off the street as a stray dog, she was terrified.

Just when things seemed hopeless for Dove, Rita Earl BlackwellA volunteer from Los Angeles, California, stepped into the picture. As soon as Rita spotted Dove in her tiny kennel, the big-hearted animal lover rushed in to save her life.
The shelter environment was not safe for his little family
For days, Rita visited Dove at the shelter to give her hope. At the same time, she continued to post supplications on his social networks to help this poor dog find a way out.
“I am so sad to think that she will have to give birth alone in the shelter. In crowded, noisy kennels. It is cold. I am worried about the babies trying to survive there.” Rita wrote in a Instagram post.

Aleks was more than happy to help Dove and her litter. In no time at all, this poor mom and her babies were out of the shelter and on to a whole new adventure.

The ideal host family
Thanks to Karla’s Packagewho works closely with Aleks and welcomed Dove and her babies with an open heart, Dove’s family got a beautiful foster home.
For the first two weeks, Dove was rather reserved and wary. She only let Karla feed her, but that was it. All he cared about was his twelve puppies and their safety..
Then, over time, his incredible transformation unfolded.
One day, she even got out of her enclosure and was shocked – positively! In addition to her and the babies, Karla had seven other pooches who were more than happy to meet Dove. And she couldn’t be more thrilled!
“Mama Dove is so sweet. She wanted to come out and be with my pack, so we finally let her. She behaved so well that now she doesn’t want to go back and be the mom.” Karla wrote in a update message.
It was really rewarding to see Dove come out of her shelll. Considering she didn’t have any love in her previous life, just seeing her interact with everyone was amazing.
“Having love and a family is all new to her and she doesn’t want to miss out on anything. Once she’s with us, she’s happy and content,” she added.
