Human cruelty often knows no bounds, especially when it comes to little furry creatures whose sole purpose is to bring joy into our lives.

How can people be so cruel? I will never know…

Once again, my heart breaks writing the story of a certain little dog named Figgy.

Escape from cruelty

At the golden age of 18, a toy poodle named Figgy was given to a veterinarian to be euthanized.

This little black dog, also blind and toothless, sought love and affection in his final days, but instead found himself abandoned in an unfamiliar place, scared and alone.

When the veterinary clinic staff asked the owner what the reason for the euthanasia was, the owner simply replied: “He’s stupid.”

Everyone at the clinic was shocked that someone could have such a cold heart.

The staff took one look at the little puppy and immediately knew they weren’t going to euthanize him.

They ran some tests and found that Figgy was blind, arthritic and toothless, but relatively healthy for a year old. 18 year old dog.

Even though he was an old dog, there was no need to euthanize him.

A second chance at happiness

The veterinary clinic fortunately contacted Muttville Senior Dog Rescuein San Francisco, California, and they quickly agreed to take in this scared and confused dog.

Since Figgy had health problems and had endured so much hardship, Sherri Franklinthe founder of Muttville Senior Dog Rescue, took Figgy into her home.

“He was totally in love and slept with me curled up under my armpit. I loved it,” Franklin told The Dodo.

Luckily, it didn’t take too long to find the perfect home for Figgy.

Just four days after arriving at the shelter and posting a message on Figgy, he found a new forever home.

An experienced hospice owner, Eileencontacted the shelter as soon as she heard about little Figgy.

She thought he was perfect, unlike his previous owners.

“He will be our fifth angel of the hospice”, Eileen told the Dodo.

Figgy was finally home, safe, warm and much loved. His last days will be filled with love and affection, to say the least.

“I just couldn’t help but think that these precious angels had given their love and loyalty to someone their entire lives and definitely didn’t deserve to die alone in a shelter. They deserved love, comfort, and security for the time they had left, and I knew I could provide that. » Eileen said.

We are so happy that this kind elderly gentleman has found his special someone who will love and care for him until the end.
