That’s exactly what happened to Chai, a four-year-old dog whose owner, without any explanation, simply handed her over to animal control and left. The image of her sad appearance quickly spread across the Internet and broke many hearts.

After Chai was surrendered to animal control on January 9, her photo from the shelter was quickly shared by many people online.
It didn’t take long for the image to catch the attention of people from Angels Among Us Save Petsin Atlanta, Georgia. They reacted quickly and decided to take care of this abandoned girl with a sad look.
“She was happy and loving when she arrived, but she slowly started to stop. » Jackie Spett, director of marketing and development at Angels, said News week.
The desperate state into which this dog was gradually beginning to sink was the best proof that the shelter was not the right place for her. This is why they decided to react quickly and, on January 12, managed to find him a foster family in Atlanta, Georgia.
“Her foster family will keep her for a mandatory 14-day quarantine period, after which she can be adopted, provided she remains healthy and free of any other concerns,” Spett said. “Chai’s foster family says she is always on the move, so an active family or individual would be best.”
Although his look was still a little sad and worried, Chai began to relax a little and show his true colors in the comfort of a loving home.
His fans on the Internet quickly discovered this news and were more than delighted. However, many of them were still “troubled” by a question related to this dog.

Two days after finding his new home, Angels Among Us Pet Rescue shared Chai’s story in its Facebook post.
In addition to describing the situation this poor girl suddenly found herself in, they began the caption of this post with the question: “Anyone know what race I am?”
This sentence attracted a lot of attention. Many people started guessing and predictions mainly included a Dachshund mix and a German Shepherd-Labrador mix. Spett also said another popular choice was “the good old brown dog of Georgia.”
