It’s rare to come across a large black dot under a tree next to a fence while out on a nature walk. Yet that’s exactly what happened to a good Samaritan as he was walking through Evergreen, Colorado.
At first he thought it was some kind of object, but he soon noticed that the same “object” was stuck in the fence and was moving a little. He then realized that it was a living being, so he slowly moved closer to see what exactly it was.
There he was greeted by a poor baby animal who needed immediate help.
Quick and successful rescue
When this man looked closer from a decent distance, he saw that It was a little bear that was entangled in a fence.
The good Samaritan was heartbroken and wanted to help the little boy, but he didn’t know what to do. Because of this, he called the rescuers Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) for assistance.
As soon as they heard about this wildlife problem, CPW Officers Jake Sonberg, Scott Murdoch and Ian Petkash, along with K9 Officer Samsonrushed to this location in Evergreen, Colorado. Unlike the Good Samaritan, they were not surprised.
“Bear cubs can get into tricky situations” CPW spokeswoman Kara Van Hoose said: The Dodo. “We usually see them stuck in dumpsters or ropes, not in wire fencing, but they are very curious and can get into anything.”
Before beginning the rescue operation, rescuers noticed another bear in a nearby tree, but this one was much larger. She was a worried mother who was anxiously watching what would happen to his child.
Since they didn’t know how the mother bear would react, they decided to anesthetize her for their own safety and that of the animals. After successfully doing this, they rushed towards the cub.
“The rescue [had] to arrive quickly,” CPW wrote in a Tweet.
Rescuers immediately grabbed the wire holding the boy and cut it successfullyAs soon as they released the little bear, they placed it in a safe place and waited for the mother to wake up.
A heartwarming reunion
The rescuers were already delighted because the little one was finally free. However, everyone was waiting to see the most heartwarming moment – the reunion of mother and baby.
When the mother finally woke up, a few moments had not passed and they were already in each other’s arms.
The rescuers’ hearts melted at this scene and they were once again reminded of the true values that had made them fall in love with what they do.
“Wildlife management can be difficult” Van Hoose said. “Days like this are worth it.”
Despite all the difficulties, love always triumphs in the end, and that’s what matters.
