When life throws you lemons, make lemonade! This is the motto that Lara has followed all her life.
Even though she completely lost her sight, she never stopped being enthusiastic about the world. She embraced everything and everyone around her with all her heart.
Unfortunately, she was sent away by her adoptive families twice in a short period of time. But that didn’t stop her from hoping that one day, someone would see how amazing she was.
And it turned out that this person was his adoptive father!
I remember you, dad
Brian and Alex, long-time foster families with Saving Priceless Petsof California, offered Lara a temporary home before she embarked on her journey to her permanent home. At the time, she was suffering from a serious infection, which caused her to lose both eyes.
Being a special needs puppy, Lara had a hard time adjusting to new circumstances. She was shy and reserved, and definitely needed time to acclimate to a new environment.
Luckily, in just a few weeks, she got used to her new family and transformed into the sweetest little love!
Since then, She had two failed adoptions, which resulted in Lara being returned to the shelter – again! When Brian heard about his unfortunate situation, he immediately rushed to take action.
He and Alex decided to give their adorable foster family a permanent home. without thinking twice.
“We fostered Lara for a few months. After two failed adoptions, she became a permanent member of the family,” his parents wrote on Instagram.
Brian wasn’t entirely sure his favorite fur baby would remember him, but The second he approached his kennel, something amazing happenedNot only did she know who he was, but she literally went into cuddling, tail-wagging mode within seconds!
“When we went to pick her up the day she came back from her second adoption, I thought she would remember me, but I was a little curious. And luckily, it went even better than I had expected,” Brian said Cuddly friends.
She was so happy to see the familiar face again after a turbulent time in her life. From that moment on, Lara never left Brian’s side! She clung to her father and refused to let go again.
The two became inseparable. Despite the fact that Lara is a sociable dog who loves everyone, her father is definitely her number one person in the world.
“She is definitely daddy’s girl and has barely left my side since then,” said Brian.
Living the best life
Since arriving at Brian and Alex’s, Lara has been doing wonderfully!
His blindness is definitely no longer a problem because Lara navigates her California home perfectlyShe doesn’t even let the occasional accident stop her from having fun indoors.
“A few people have asked Lara how she gets along around the house. The short answer is that she gets around the house surprisingly well, despite the occasional bump.” Lara’s owners wrote on Instagram.
In addition to this, she made countless friends in the city. Lara loves going for walks, spending time with other dogs in the park, and having many exciting adventures with her family.
Every time her dad takes her for a walk, she turns into the happiest, most wiggly cuddly bug ever.
Today, Lara couldn’t be happier. Despite all the heartbreak of the past, she is living the life she always wanted and has a family that loves her unconditionally. But, more than anything, she has the perfect dad!
