Dogs are full of surprises. Some of them suddenly decide to change their bark, some love to sleep in very strange positions, and still others are simply obsessed with a certain toy.
But few dogs decide to grow bigger than they’re supposed to.
Well, that’s exactly what one adorable Frenchie decided to do, throwing his parents into such disbelief that they had to do a DNA test to figure out what exactly was going on.
A big dog
When Arizona-based pet owners decided to adopt an adorable French bulldog, They thought that when he grew up, they would have a little dog given that this breed typically weighs between 16 and 28 pounds.
However, This is not what their puppy, Apollo, planned.
Over time, this adorable little puppy started to grow big and strongand…well…he just kept growing.
At the age of seven months, he weighed 75 pounds! To say he was a big boy would be an understatement.
His parents, shocked, decided to turn to social networks, in particular TikTokand show everyone how big their supposed little dog was.

Sure, proud Arizona dog parents have accepted their dog’s uniqueness, but they still wanted to understand the cause of this unexpected growth.
The DNA test
While taking the DNA test, the owners weren’t sure what to expect, but when the results came in, it all made sense.
According to the test, Apollo is 37% English Bulldog and 53% French Bulldog..
The test also showed that he was four percent American Pit Terrier, two percent Boston Terrier and four percent American Staffordshire Terrier. Talk about a lot of everything!
Of course, everyone who met this sweet pup was absolutely blown away. All their videos are filled with sweet comments indicating how adorable this puppy is.
One commenter was just as shocked as the parents, saying:
“It’s a huge French bulldog!” I’ve never seen one this big.
But another has just stated the obvious:
“The cutest thing ever!”
One even said that his size was actually better for his overall health:
“I think that mix was good. His airways are good and he still has the aesthetics of a French bulldog… He’s also a 100% good boy but these tests always fail.
Last word
Despite the big and unexpected surprise that his parents had, Apollo is still a very important part of the family and they wouldn’t change him for anything..
After all, the bigger it is, the more love there is to give!
