Although it may not seem like it at first glance, kennels can be incredibly daunting for animals.
The confined space, loud noises, and absence of their own human can make them depressed and anxious. Unfortunately, kennel life not only affects the animals’ overall mood, but also their chances of being adopted. The longer they stay in the shelter, the more hopeful they become.
And even though the staff do everything they can to try to make these poor babies feel at home, there is only so much they can do.
That’s why Cassian decided to take matters into his own hands!

Meet Cassian, a Boxer-mix who arrived at the Seattle Animal Shelter six weeks ago a few years ago with the aim of finding a loving family.
At first, he decided to go the traditional route: showing himself to every human who passed my kennel until one of them fell head over heels in love with me.
It may seem like a foolproof plan, since he is so adorablebut things were not as easy as Cassian thought.
That’s why he decided to take a different approach.
“Cassian is very stressed at the shelter and he doesn’t show it very well in his kennel” said the shelter volunteer a TikTok video.
Because of this, Cassian would jump straight to his kennel doorwanting to say hello and trying to get the attention of any human passing by.
So, to prevent him from getting hurt, the staff had to cover his door with a blanket.
However, this meant that many humans would simply walk past himwithout even knowing that he too was looking for a forever home!
A glimmer of hope
One of the humans who volunteered at the shelter had the most brilliant ideas ever.
She decided to print Cassian’s face on a huge blanket and hang it above his niche so that anyone who walks by is immediately greeted by his adorable face!
However, since their TikTok video went viral before the cover arrived, Cassian has already been noticed by a loving family who decided to take him in.
But don’t worry, the blanket is waiting patiently to be given to whoever decides to give this adorable pup a forever home.
“Cassian is an enthusiastic and outgoing young boy who is eagerly awaiting his next adventure. Cassian is a small boy but packs a lot of personality into a small package,” the shelter wrote on Cassian’s adoption page.
