When a puppy finds a loving home, it can sometimes take time for him to get used to his new surroundings.
But once they do, it becomes their new favorite place.
Not only does it provide a sense of security and comfort, but it also contains their most precious possession: their human.
When Bear Bear was taken from the SPCA of Texas and adopted into a loving forever home, he was the happiest boy in the world. Unfortunately, after his owner suddenly passed away, he was left back at square one with no plans for his future.
And now ?
Bear Bear’s owner was found passed out in his car with the puppy inside. Sadly, the owner passed away shortly after being admitted to hospital, meaning Bear Bear had to be returned to the shelter.
The Texas shelter welcomed him with open arms, making sure to shower him with extra love and affection because of the traumatic experience he went through.
When Dezorey Arocha, the nurse who was caring for Bear Bear’s owner at the hospital, learned from a detective that Bear Bear had been returned to the shelter with no family members to claim him, she knew she had to take matters into her own hands.
“I didn’t know his name. I didn’t know if he was a man or a woman. I had no idea. All I could think about was how sad he must be.” Arocha said to the People.
Arocha, accompanied by another nurse, began scouring local animal shelters, determined to find Bear Bear.
For eleven days, these nurses were agitated. The fact that they didn’t have any information about this puppy made this whole thing much more difficult.
But suddenly, Arocha discovered that the dog’s name was actually Bear Bear, which allowed her to locate the pup on the SPCA of Texas website.
New life
When they found him, authorities scanned his microchip and discovered he originally belonged to the SPCA of Texas. they decided it would be best to return him to their care.
“And we have a policy that no matter how many people we have, if they’re alumni, we’ll take them back. And that’s how Bear Bear came back to us for the second time,” said Chris Luna, CEO and president of the SPCA of Texas.
As soon as Arocha saw Bear Bear on his website, She quickly sent them an email to explain the situation and express her desire to meet the puppy.
Finally seeing each other face to face sparked an incredible love between the two.
“In the reception room, he was as gentle as a lamb. He was very affectionate, gentle, but excited, and really like a puppy. He is very cute, very playful,” The nurse remembers.
It was clear to everyone that Bear Bear was I walked out of the shelter that day as an adopted puppy!
“It was just perfect. I don’t know why I was so attracted to him,” she adds.
Worthy of love
Finally, Bear Bear can unwind and relax in his new home, where he gets all the love and attention he deserves.
Although I’m sure he will forever carry his former owner in his heart, having Arocha by his side made him smile.
What an incredible story!
