A man was cycling to work one morning when he noticed an unusual movement on the road. When he got a little closer, he immediately stopped dead in his tracks.
It was a dog, completely helpless and immobile, without enough strength to escape from the passing cars. The sight of this dog shocked the man to the bone, and he immediately came to the aid of this poor puppy. Since he was all alone and without a car, all he could do was move him off the road.
He then called the rescue team…
She was on the brink
Galina, a long-time dog lover and rescuer, responded to the man’s call with her colleague. Although they were a few hours late, when they arrived at the scene, the dog was still there.
She was lying completely helpless and in pain.She could barely lift her head and make any movement, but her eyes would shine whenever she saw humans approaching.
She seemed so grateful and happy that someone had finally shown compassion towards her. It was as if she knew that from now on, she wouldn’t have to worry about surviving in the middle of nowhere.
The next moment, the dog, later named Yasmin, did the most incredible thing!
She gathered all her strength and crawled to the rescuers’ car, showing how much she wanted to be helped. She was really desperate! she couldn’t stop cryingBut she never gave up!
Galina and her colleague did not want Yasmin to suffer further, so they loaded her into the back of their car and drove to the nearest veterinary clinic.
Upon arrival, Yasmin underwent a long and thorough examination and numerous tests. Unfortunately, The results were heartbreaking…
Yasmin’s condition was much more serious than they thought
The results showed that this little stray girl was not only emaciated and neglected. Yasmin’s body temperature was below normal and she suffered from inflammation of the mammary glands. But that was not even the worst.
Yasmin had a broken spine This left her unable to move properly. Her injury was so severe that no operation could allow her to use her hind legs again.
Galina was so devastated when she heard the news. It hurt a lot for Yasmin to have to face the harsh reality, but even in the worst moments, she was willing to help this resilient girl!
Thanks to a big-hearted community with whom Galina shared Yasmin’s story, this brave dog was sent for further rehabilitation.
It won’t be an easy road and there will surely be many ups and downs, but neither Galina nor Yasmin intend to give up! They are both fighters who will do everything in their power to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
And when the time comes, I am confident that Yasmin will find a suitable home and owners who will appreciate her for who she is. She really is a sweet little girl!
