Some canines perfectly illustrate the meaning of the expression that dogs are humans’ best friends.

And that person is definitely Moose!

This incredible German Shepherd has dazzled the world with a one-of-a-kind act of selflessness, showing just how caring he is for his little human brother.

Even though Moose isn’t a trained therapy dog, he’s a true example of canine intuition and talent. Here’s why!

A lifelong bond

The Carpio family, originally from Oklahoma, brought Moose home from Texas as a puppy in 2022. When he arrived at the new home, never in their wildest dreams would they have thought that Moose would be such an important part of their family.

They already had a dog named Chomper, also a German Shepherd, and having another dog was not an option.

But when Lauren saw a post on a Facebook group about Moose looking for a family, she couldn’t say no. It was almost his birthday and Moose seemed like the perfect gift. And so it happened!

The whole family welcomed Moose with an open heart. Chomper was also very happy to have a brother or sister, just like the children! But, above all, Moose immediately felt drawn to his little brother, Noah.

Even though Moose had never undergone any professional dog training, he knew right away that his little human needed extra protection. Seven-year-old Noah suffers from congenital heart problems that have required multiple surgeriesand he also developed seizures.

His parents, Lauren and Josh, set up a camera in his room so they could have a live feed in case Noah had a seizure, but they didn’t know there was an extra pair of eyes watching over their son.

Moose – The Protector of the Family

One night, Lauren looked at the camera to see Noah when she saw the cutest thing! Moose snuck into Noah’s room and already checked on him.

He slowly approached Noah’s bed, looked at his little human buddy, then gave him the sweetest kiss on the face. For the rest of the night, Moose slept right next to Noah’s bed, making sure he was there in case his brother needed him.

From then on, Moose sneaking into Noah’s room at night became a regular occurrence.

“Moose often goes to see him and gives him kisses. Sometimes I get lucky and look at the camera at the right moment to capture this adorable creature.” wrote Lauren.

He doesn’t just watch over Noah while he sleeps. This giant-hearted German Shepherd is on alert 24/7 and always makes sure to be near Noah.

When his little human is not feeling well, he becomes more observant and refuses to leave his side. He checks on him repeatedly and licks his face every few minutes just to let him know that he is there for him.

Lauren and her family are truly grateful to have Moose in their family.

“He may not have been trained to be a therapy or service dog, but you can’t look at these pictures and tell me he doesn’t have a special bond with my son. He brings so much joy and laughter into our lives every day,” Lauren wrote for Dog tracking company.

Even though he is sometimes clumsy and set in his own ways, the fact that he acts as Noah’s personal protector means a lot to them.

This is truly a special dogand a true example of the beauty of the human-dog relationship!
