Being separated from loved ones is probably one of the hardest things for dogs, but being abandoned on the street without even realizing it is beyond words!
For elderly dog Fritter, everything changed when his Southern California family received an eviction notice. They packed up soon after, leaving everything behind, even Fritter.
He found himself literally left in front of the house, with no one to take care of him. In all the confusion, Fritter managed to make a small bed from an empty box thrown into the garden…
Fritter hoped that each car would have its returning owner
This little puppy spent days waiting for his family to return, looking at cars passing on the street and hoping one of them would be his paw.
The neighbors made sure he had enough food and water, but that was all they could do because Fritter wouldn’t let them get close. He was visibly scared and in shock, not realizing that his ex-family had left him for good.
When neighbors found out the city was planning to demolish her family’s home, they contacted Suzette Hall, a local dog rescuer and volunteer. Logan’s Legacy.
Hall did not hesitate to help this poor boy away from the inhumane conditions, and she went there as soon as she was informed.
“He was literally waiting on the street and hoping every car would come back. He came home and slept in a box in the garden. Sometimes neighbors left food and water. Suzette said.
Restoring Fritter’s confidence wasn’t a walk in the park
Suzette set a human trap with treats to lure Fritter into it, but he didn’t even try to enter. He sat motionless in his dressing room, wary of a strange woman calling out to him.
Eventually, Hall and her friend were able to corner Fritter and put him in a crate.
He was literally shivering on the way to Camino Pet Hospital in Irvine, California, but just before Suzette gave him a veterinary exam, Fritter let her hold him.
That brief moment was a turning point in their relationship, and probably the moment Fritter realized Suzette was trying to help him, not hurt him.
After a medical examination, he was transferred to Suzette’s home for further treatment and socialization. It seemed like every day he got a little closer to the goal, and the goal was to make him the happy little puppy he once was.
It didn’t take long to find the Pawfect family
Luckily, it didn’t take long for Fritter’s story to catch the attention of what seemed like her perfect family! A lovely wife and three other siblings became a permanent home for this elderly person, leaving behind all those lonely nights!
“His frown was upset. I’m so happy for you, my sweet boy! Your lonely nights are behind. Your belly will always be full. No one will leave you behind again. » Suzette wrote about her Facebook.
Once an abandoned dog crying in misery over his lost family, Fritter is now the happiest boy in the world!
