Leaving home is always difficult for everyone, and dogs are no exception.
Due to the growing housing crisis, many people are forced to give up their favorite companions around the world. The story of Palmer, a two-year-old boy, is Exhibit A!
This little dog found himself in a difficult situation after his owners were evicted and divorced. He went from a wonderful home to nothing – all in one day!
It wasn’t his fault
Thanks to the good people of Rescue the Lovebugs, Palmer didn’t wait long to find temporary shelter. When they heard his sad story, paramedics immediately took him and his other brother, Presley.
“Palmer lost his home through no fault of his own. Her family was being evicted and their dogs had nowhere to go. the rescue wrote on Facebook.
In no time, this two-year-old Chihuahua boi mix found a host familyand it fits perfectly.
Thanks to his previous life in a hostel, Palmer didn’t have much to learn. He was already a good dog, socialized and well behaved. He loved being surrounded by people of all ages, but a special place in his heart is left for children.
“Palmer is a 2 year old, 13 lb Chihuahua mix who is very well behaved in the house, friendly with dogs and children, and loves everyone he meets,” Lovebugs Rescue wrote.
“It will be a relatively easy addition to a new home. He is a friendly guy who loves to be petted. It also accepts dogs. they added.
Despite all the grief and the fact that he now found himself without an owner, Palmer didn’t shy away from meeting new people.
In fact, he loved doing it! He takes every opportunity to make new friends. Well, he loves going out!
Beneath his (initially) sad eyes lies an enthusiastic and carefree boy who craves new adventures.
And finally, he didn’t wait long for them!
Here’s the coolest twist
Palmer’s story touched many hearts, including those of his new owners. In a short time, some amazing people came to meet this little lovebug – and they immediately fell in love. Nothing sweeter than love at first sight, right?
The couple decided to add Palmer to their family and finally show him his new forever home.
“Palmer has joined his new family” the rescue announced in a Facebook post.
Once he realized what was happening, Palmer couldn’t hide the smile on his face. He was finally on his way to a new chapter in his life, which meant only one thing: From now on he would never have to be alone again!
If he could talk, I bet Palmer would love to contact his previous owners just to inform them of his current situation. “Mom, Dad, I’m fine. I have an awesome life now! would probably be the first words out of his mouth!
Have a good life, Palmer!
