Sometimes a little faith is enough.
When Ladybird, a former black Labrador, found herself in a park toilet in Destrehan, Louisiana, she didn’t give up hope. Her owner, who was in a very difficult situation at the time, left her there temporarily with a heartbreaking message.
It didn’t take long for this adorable dog to be found by kind rescuers, but what she got that day was much more than just a rescue.

Ladybug’s story
The reason Ladybird ended up in a public restroom was heartbreaking. She and her owner spent 9 amazing years togethertraveling the country and living side by side inseparably since he was six weeks old.
Whenever the road grew tired, the two returned home to North Carolina. They would spend time there as a family, then embark on another trip together.
This time, however, things went wrong when Ladybird’s owner found himself homeless in Louisiana.
He is living in a shelter, trying to save as much money as possible, so he and the dog can return to North Carolina.
Both found themselves stuck without a car and a roof over their heads, so he decided to let Ladybird spend the night in a bathroom.
He left a note saying he would return in the morning and begged whoever found Ladybird to be kind to her. He even left water in case the dog needed it.
Return trip
The next morning, the owner arrived at the place where he had left his dog, but she was no longer there. He immediately contacted animal control, who told him that Ladybird had been sent to Saint-Charles Parish Animal Shelter.
When this kind group of rescuers learned the full story of Ladybird and her owner, they decided to help her.
Although their case was not ordinary, the team felt the need to help this loyal duo who have supported each other for so many years.
They managed to make contact with Virginia Beach SPCA and transfer Ladybird there. This amazing team took the dog in and made sure she had a nice bath and a relaxing day at the local spa.
Once the treatment was over, the team rewarded her with a delicious pupachino for being such a good girl.
Once Ladybird’s story was made public, a group of pet organizations stepped in and I decided to contribute and help her get home safely.
They raised money for the flight home and provided Ladybird with medical care and pet supplies. Eventually, this adorable girl arrived at her family’s home in North Carolina, where she had the sweetest reunion with her grandmother.
The two were delighted to see each other again after so long.
Her owner then contacted her dog’s rescuers, informing them of her and Ladybird’s situation.
