When Animal Services of the City of Arlington, Texas After receiving several calls from concerned citizens about a stray dog running around town, they knew they had to send a team to find her and bring her to the shelter.
The Pit Bull mix, who was later named Bitsy, was described as a happy, playful dog who loved to wander around the Texas neighborhood with no intention of stopping.
Luckily, after one of her walks, Bitsy ended up in the loving home of one of the concerned citizens, making it much easier for Officer Allex Pollard to locate her.
Meet Bitsy
The first time Officer Pollard met Bitsy, it was clear to her that she was in the presence of one of those puppies that you remember forever.

Looking for a house
After her mandatory 72-hour detention ended and no man came forward to say she was missing, the Texas shelter began preparing her for adoption.
However, staff referred to her as an adoptable VIP pet because they suspected she was hard of hearing or even deaf due to the observations they made while caring for her.
“When pets become VIPs at Arlington Animal Services, we lower their adoption fees and feature them in hopes of finding their forever homes quickly,” explained the spokesperson.
Five days later, the shelter decided to place Bitsy in her “adoption mall”, located at the front of the shelter and had a limited number of kennels.
From there, Bitsy was able to meet potential pet owners visiting the shelter and amaze them with her incredible smile.
The spokesperson said that within seconds of moving to the adoption mall, Bitsy raised her head and looked out the window, displaying her sweet smile for everyone to see.
“She was so happy! Honestly, it didn’t surprise us, but it’s like she knew this was her chance to start a family! She loves looking out the window and seeing the staff or visitors in the shelter and she is even happier than before,” shared the shelter spokesperson.
Unfortunately, even with her contagious smile and the fact that she has become a minor celebrity on FacebookBitsy was unable to generate interest in adoption.
The City of Arlington, Texas Animal Services stated that This sweet girl would do best with a responsible family who would love an energetic and fun furry companion that would turn every boring day into an incredible adventure.
“Bitsy wants and needs love, time and attention. Someone willing to work with the possibility that she might be deaf. He is an intelligent dog who loves to please people. » said the shelter.
