We’ve all heard the expression that a dog is man’s best friend, and this remains true in almost all cases. We’re so used to their unwavering ability to make our days a little better every time.
However, just when you think dogs can’t be any better than they are, they end up doing something that surprises you even more.
In this story we will talk about an example when an emotional dog surprised everyone with his kindness and empathy.
What did he find
It was just an ordinary day when Jenna Laigle I was walking with his Golden Retriever, Otisin Torrington, Connecticut.
The woman and her dog took some time to rest. After a while, the the dog was distracted by something, so he went to see.
He returned to Jenna and she noticed his anxietyso she followed him to where Otis found something.
It was six newborn rabbits who were lying there on the ground without their mother. Otis immediately took care of their safety and protected them from any harm that might happen to them.
He placed them carefully between his paws and licked them until they calmed down a little. Jenna, on the other hand, spent time searching for their mother’s nest.
Mission accomplished
After a moment of looking for the nest, she finally found itso she hurried back to Otis who was still taking care of the babies.
The duo then carefully picked up the rabbits, brought them back to their mother’s nest and placed them there.
Otis looked really happy knowing he helped keep the rabbits safe and comforted the whole time they were with him.
Jenna said he had always been particularly emotional and kind dogand I loved helping anyone who needed it.
If this story can show us anything, it’s that a dog’s empathy doesn’t always extend just to humans, but to all animals who need help.
