Isn’t it sad to see a dog forced to leave its beloved home after so many years?
These little four-legged balls of fur looking all confused and sad while trying to settle into a shelter break my heart!
And, recently, it exploded again when I learned Jade’s story!
After more than a decade in a loving family, this black dog lost the place she loved most. Her family couldn’t take care of her because they were left homeless, and now Jade was too!
She looked completely closed off as she was forced to ‘say’ a final goodbye to her comfortable life. Jade tried her best to get used to her new environment which was now a four-walled kennel, but to no avail.
Then, just as his hopes began to fade, a miracle in the shape of Hooman appeared!
Left at the shelter for good

Yet, at fourteen years old and with no experience of shelter life, there was little they could do.
“Jade is a kind senior who was placed in a high-welfare shelter when her owner became homeless. Being 14 years old and black, we knew her chances of making it out alive were slim. the rescue wrote on Instagram.
Jade seemed extremely depressed upon his arrival, without even being able to raise his head. On top of all this, she already suffered from arthritis and tooth decay.
Given her age and race, no one expected that this elderly lady would ever find a home. But then it happened!
A woman named Alisyn Davidson and her partner learned of Jade’s story and immediately rushed to help her.
Light at the end of the tunnel
The couple had been hosted at this Pennsylvania shelter before, and now it was time to do another good deed!
Jade’s eyes lit up as soon as Alisyn approached her, which was a good sign. But she got really excited once she got in a car, realizing she was going to a new house!
That day, the new chapter of Jade’s life has begunn, and this eldest daughter couldn’t have been happier. In just a few days, she transformed into a carefree puppy who loves everything about her new life.
She is settling in perfectly with her new family and has even formed a good bond with Alisyn’s other pets – a dog and a cat.
Jade has become completely unrecognizable. Despite her age, she had so much enthusiasm in her! It was so heartwarming to see this abandoned dog come out of his shell in the most beautiful way possible.
Not only did she overcome the heartbreak of abandonment, but she seized her new opportunity with her paws wide open!
Even though it all started as a foster rescue, Alisyn and her partner couldn’t let Jade feel alone again. This is why This couple made the decision to give Jade a home – for good!
“We could all use some good news, and we are happy to report that Jade has been recovered from the shelter and is safe in foster care,” the rescue announced in a Instagram update.
Who would have thought that a 14 year old dog would find her way to a new home just days after being abandoned? But it happened – all thanks to Jade’s new parents.
Today, Jade is enjoying her well-deserved retirement, far from life in a shelter. His golden days are filled with love, cuddles, and endless playtime, and isn’t that what every dog should have?
