When it comes to dog ownership, it’s no surprise that there are still parts of the country where people absolutely neglect their pets.

It’s a truly horrible thing that many people think doesn’t happen very often, but you’d be wrong if you thought that.

In some cases, the abuse or neglect can be so severe that dogs simply try to run away from their owners. That’s how afraid they are.

It’s tragic, but the real world isn’t always pleasant. When this particular puppy was found by a group of drivers at a truck park in California, they were surprised to see her.

They didn’t know how or why she got there, because there were no houses nearby, but they wanted to help her somehow, so they called for help .

Suzette Hall to the rescue

When the yard workers first noticed the dog, they realized she still had a leash attached.

So there was a good chance that she had fled her home. Why? It’s hard to say, but it was possible that she was mistreated, so she ran away.

The truck park was quite large, so she had quite a few hiding places because she was terrified of others.

She spent a lot of time eating cat food. That’s how she survived for two weeks before the truck drivers called for help.

Every time they tried to help him, it didn’t go well. They wanted to help her relax, but she kept running away.

She hid under the trucks for there was plenty of room and no one could reach him there. The poor puppy had no way of knowing these people had good intentions.

Hall is on a mission

When Suzette Hall finally arrived on the scene, the drivers told her where the dog was hiding.

The wife brought some nice hot dogs, and the puppy noticed them. The smell attracted him immediately.

She looked so hungry but didn’t dare approach him yet. SO, Hall decided to set a humane trap with food inside a kennel.

After that, she walked away and just waited. She couldn’t do anything at that point.

Now that the puppy had relaxed a little, she immediately went to get the food, and the trap did its job on the spot.

Everyone breathed a collective sigh of relief when they realized the dog was finally safe.

The truck drivers thanked Hall for helping this sweet dog. She then put her back in the car and decided to drive her back to the shelter in California.

After that, the puppy hugged her new rescuer so tightly that it seemed like she knew her rescuer was leading her to a better life.

While we don’t know what happened next for this puppy or if he will be placed in foster care for a while, we are certain that Suzette Hall will do everything in her power to help him.

In the end, this poor puppy struggled for two weeks to survive on her own, but the kindness of strangers showed her that not everyone is bad and that many of us want to help her if we can.
